EcoOcéan Institut est un organisme d’étude d’impact sur l’environnement marin, animé par les Dr Léa David et Nathalie Di-Méglio, avec lequel la SCS mêne un partenariat logistique en mer Ligure depuis 2004.

Programme IMPACT-CET (Dr Léa David & Dr Nathalie Di-Méglio - EcoOcéan Institut)

Etude d’impact en Côte d’Azur et en Corse du trafic intense des navires de marchandises, des ferries passagers, des bateaux de plaisance et de pêche sur les nombreuses populations de baleines et dauphins.

But : Aboutir à la mise en place d’une stratégie régionale efficace de protection des cétacés.

Par leurs travaux scientifiques, les Dr Léa David et Nathalie Di-Méglio ont contribué, avec Alexandre Gannier et Tethys Reseach Institute, à la création du Sanctuaire PELAGOS en Méditerranée nord-occidentale (soit au total 3 thèses entre 1993 et 2000 dont 2 financées par le Ministère français).

Elles ont aussi réalisé en 1992 l’Atlas des cétacés de Méditerranée.

EcoOcéan Institut a pu utiliser les données scientifiques collectées en mer entre autres par les écovolontaires de la SCS (et d’autres organismes associatifs) pour produire :
